I am a classically trained musician with more than 20 years of professional experience. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario with a degree in Piano Performance in 2005, I studied musicology in Germany and later completed a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. I have collaborated with musicians and ensembles as a pianist and conductor, and have served as a church music director. Since 2014, I have taught piano full-time from my home studio in Guelph, Ontario, working with students of all ages and abilities.

I have also composed a wide range of solo piano music, available at DarrylsPiano.com. My music often draws on dark, Romantic colours and complex harmonies to create an emotional, frequently melancholic sound.

I am now developing my work as a composer for games, building my skills in the craft, tools, and conventions of this art style.

I am here to collaborate with indie developers on RPG and Metroidvania projects, creating music that breathes live into their characters and worlds.

My favourite games include Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Hollow Knight, Silksong, and Expedition 33.
